Mission


This curriculum is aimed to provide on-campus VLSI design training as the second major field for students in National Tsing-Hua University (NTHU) that are not enrolled in the College of Electric Engineering and Computer Science.

Basic Requirement
All students in NTHU are eligible to apply for this curriculum.
Pre-requisites
Calculus (3 credits)
Course Organization

Category 1: Five Mandatory Courses

(1) Logic Design, (2) Computer Programming in C or Pascal, (3) Electronics or Circuit Theory, (4) Introduction to VLSI Design, (5) Computer Organization.

Category 2: Nine Optional Courses

(1) Signal and System, (2) Data Structure, (3) Embedded Operating System, (4) Compiler, (5) Algorithm, (6) Digital Circuit and System, (7) VLSI Testing, (8) Analog IC Design, (9) VLSI Design Lab.

Diploma Qualification

To be qualified for the curriculum diploma issued by NTHU, it is required to attain at least 21 credits that covers all five mandatory courses and at least two optional courses (i.e., course in category 2).
(Note that the credits of the pre-requisite course on calculus are not included in the required 21 credits.)

Equivalent Courses

Certain course offerings outside EE and CS departments can be used as equivalents for this curriculum, as listed in Appendix 2.
