We believe by the power of ICT
can creat unprecedented possibilities.
So we provide PC and share ICT knowledges
for the people in Tazania.
TAs the proverb goes,
“Show a man how to catch fish,
and you wil feed him for a lifetime.”
We not only give them computer classrooms,
but also train the seeded teachers.
The self-sufficient computer classrooms we built,
Will continuously create opportunities and
hope for students even after we leave.
We will raise computers from society and ship them to Tanzania. When we arrive, we will build computer classrooms and provide ICT courses for students and teachers. In order to let the school become self-sufficient to provide ICT courses and manage computer classrooms, we will train at least one seeded teacher in each school. In addition, we will also provide textbooks and course videos for the school. We hope the teachers can continue teaching ICT courses after we leave.
Our curriculum including commonly used software, computer hardware and maintenance, Microsoft Office and multimedia software. We hope to let students obtain basic skills of using software and understand the principle of computers. Moreover, we will start our first year collaboration with the CS students in Marian University College by holding a computer camp for local people together. We hope this project can let the students know their influences and urge them to service for society.
We are devoted to exchanging culture between Taiwan and Tanzania. In Taiwan, we share stories of Tanzania in many schools and agencies. In Tanzania, we will introduce Taiwanese traditional holidays, pop culture, religion…...etc. We will also cook Taiwanese food< with children in local orphanage./b> Despite the geographical distance between Taiwan and Tanzania is 9800 km, we believe the people in Tanzania and Taiwan can know more about each other through our program.
To increase our program’s continuity, the team of each year may suggest some subprojects for the next year team. Therefore, the subprojects can be considered as special missions for each year’s team. For example, we built a solar system in a rural school called “Oldonyo Lengai Secondary School” in 2012 through a subproject suggested by 2011 team.
